CLEVELAND WORLD TRADE ASSN. - The Encyclopedia of Cleveland History

The CLEVELAND WORLD TRADE ASSN., Intl. Division of the GREATER CLEVELAND GROWTH ASSN., was organized to perpetuate and expand international trade in the Greater Cleveland area, as well as to promote and implement foreign investments in northeast Ohio. Formed when the Cleveland Export-Import Assn. merged with the Cleveland Inter-American Council in 1946, the association, located in TOWER CITY CENTER (1995), collects and disseminates up-to-date trade information through its Intl. Trade Library and World Trade Bulletins. In addition, the CWTA provides services for certification of commercial documents, assists in market research, and conducts many trade-education activities.

The association's monthly luncheon meetings offer members an opportunity to hear authoritative speakers discuss current topics of international interest. It also organizes and co-sponsors an annual conference devoted to a better understanding of world trade and expansion. CWTA actively promotes legislation important to Cleveland's international business community and encourages foreign corporations to locate in Greater Cleveland.
